York Abandoned - 19/08/2008

York officials held an 8:30 am inspection after heavy rain overnight. Unfortunately with the course already suffering and further rain due today, they had no option but to call it off. It is always disappointing when a race meeting is abandoned, but when one of such quality is lost disappointment is enhanced. Lets hope that the rest of the Ebor meeting can be salvaged, but if the rain keeps falling it does not look promising.

Wednesdays York Meeting Abandoned - 19/08/2008

More disappointment as Wednesdays York meeting has also been abandoned. Such a shame that such a great meeting is falling foul of the weather.

Some Interesting Turf Talk Statistics For You! - 12/08/2008

There appears to be some debate at the moment regarding the Turf Talk service and so we thought it would be a perfect time to give you some statistics of the horse racing tips we have provided since the website launch in November 2007. We have given 90 tips. 37 won, 25 placed, 28 lost. In 10 months based on level stakes bets of £100 we have had a 41% win strike rate and the profit made would be £14,970.83. Things may have been a bit sticky recently but our results are different class. You will not find a better tipping website at such value anywhere...guaranteed!

Definitely Not Got The Gift - 11/08/2008

Yet more evidence of the importance of having a decent jockey on board as our inexperienced jockey did everything possible to get our tip beaten today. Got The Gift started in a good position on the rail and jumped the first 3 fences fantastically. Then the jockey managed to get bullied out of position and ended up in almost last place and up against it. He did nothing to coax the horse over the fences and suddenly under pressure hit almost every fence. It may be that the pace was a little too quick early on, but the horse had no help at all. This horse is better than this and stepped up to at least 3 miles with a decent jockey in the saddle will see the horse win next time out.

Wotashirtfull Loses Chance At The Start - 11/08/2008

We made two major mistakes today and we will always hold our hands up to that. That is not to say that the tips were "bad" tips. Our first mistake was to tip a horse ridden by an average apprentice jockey who failed to get the best out of the horses jumping ability. Our second mistake was to give you a tip in a 5 furlong sprint, which we do try to avoid. Sometimes we feel our information is so strong, it is difficult to ignore, but as you will have witnessed yesterday Wotashirtfull veered left at the start and for a horse that has to lead in his races, lost all chance in this sprint. It apears that some of you think we need to be more selective and we will take that on board. Doing this means that you will miss winners, but we do like to listen to our members so any further comments would be appreciated. Some of you are fortunate enough to have been involved at Cheltenham and will also remember months like December when we gave 3 tips in 2 days that all won and will know that our tips are different class. Some will lose, but the quality of our winners do make up for it. Lets hope we can get back on track soon. We will be sending our next tip free to all members.

Record Breaker So Close - 09/08/2008

Mark Johnstons Record Breaker ran his best race for some time today and we told you to snap up the 14/1 this morning and each way bets were advised. The horse was heavily backed down to 7/1 and ran a great race and with no hard luck stories was in the end beaten by the better horse. Strategic Mount was not expected to perform to his best with give under foot and so it was a major surprise to see him come and beat us. Unfortunately we didn't get the win we hoped for, but yet again provided our members with high class information. Unfortunately the horrific weather continued through the day at Haydock and by the time Trimlestown ran the ground was reported to be heavy. He clearly didn't appreciate the conditions and never picked up. Certainly not a horse to give up on and may be worth another chance next time, providing the conditions are suitable. We never stood a chance by the time the race went off, which was disappointing as yet again the huge morning odds of 14/1 were a steal compared to the SP of 6/1. Just a shame we couldn't sneak into a place.

Disappointing End To Glorious Goodwood - 03/08/2008

What a disappointing end to Glorious Goodwood. Deep Winter possibly didn't stay the extra distance, but looked more like a horse that may be in need of a few weeks off from the race track, as he has had a busy schedule recently and this may have come too soon. Probably the more frustrating of the two tips was Danetime Panther. The information we had for this horse was strong and we did consider not giving the tip as it was an apprentice jockeys race, but the stable were so confident we felt we had to share it with you. What a shame we couldn't have had young David Probert on board, he would have won the race by 10 lengths. However, Da Silva had an absolute nightmare when he decided to switch violently left which completely unbalanced the horse who then almost knocked two other horses off their feet. From there we never had a chance. The jockey has rightly been handed a lengthy ban....but that doesn't get us our money back!!

Visit Wins but Masaalek Lets Us Down For Deserved Double! - 01/08/2008

It was a story of photo finishes at Goodwood yesterday. Our first tip Masaalek was given a stinker of a ride by Richard Hills. First trapped on the rails and then having to switch and come wide, he was always going to struggle to win the race and after losing at least a length he went down a neck. We were so close to a fantastic double. Our second tip of the day was for Visit. We were expecting at least 3/1 on this horse but in the end we had to settle for about 5/2 on the exchanges. We have criticised Ryan Moore in the past for some bad rides, but he rode a great race on Visit to finish the day off for us nicely.

Gravitation Wins To End July On A High! - 31/07/2008

It is always great to finish a month with a winner and todays tip Gravitation ensured that we kept up our phenomenal record of never having a losing month. And your figures will be even better if you take into account we advised Emperors Well at 20/1 and Hunting Country at 6/1. Alan Munro proved his worth on board Gravitation to ride a brilliant finish and beat Frankie Detorri and have our members celebrating a much sought after winner. I suppose it was justice after Ravens Pass narrow defeat yesterday. We hope to take this winner into August and get the month off to a flier with our Glorious Goodwood tip tomorrow.

Ravens Pass Robbed Again - 30/07/2008

After the earlier disappointment of La Vecchia Scuolas defeat we were so confident that Ravens Pass would turn over Henrythenavigator and it ended in disappointment for the tough and ever unlucky colt. He battled all the way to the line and you have to wonder if the result would have been the same if he had been more prominent, or even led all the way. We knew that the odds of 4/11 about the favourite were ridiculous and subsequently the 4/1 about Ravens Pass should have been like taking candy from a baby. We are trying desperately to get our members back on a winner and are confident that tomorrow will be the day!

Mountain Pride So Unlucky - 29/07/2008

Todays tip was desperately unlucky from the moment the stalls opened. We were fortunate enough to get ridiculous odds to make each way bets possible. After getting knocked about throughout the race Mountain Pride finished 6th of 20 beaten only 4 or 5 lengths and only a length off 4th place. A great run at huge odds but yet again the luck needed eluded us! Yet another horse that needs to be followed. Another of our previous tips won today. Linby who finished 4th last time won today upped in trip at odds of 6/1.

Disappointment As Both Tips Have An Off Day! - 26/07/2008

Well what a disappointing day. There was a certain buzz around Turf Talk this weekend as we were confident we were on 2 big priced winners. Firstly Missioner flopped and appears to be one of the Johnston horses not quite back from the virus, but believe us that is not Missioners form and it will win races. Then our hopes were pinned on Lucarno. It doesn't take a genius to work out that he hasn't run his race. He beat Papal Ball by just over a length last time and was 5lb better off, so to then be beaten over ten lengths is disappointing. The only horse we were concerned about beating was the favourite and if he had run up to his form he would have won the race. It is disappointing but we just take it as a positive that we know the horse is better than the run and we will get decent odds next time out. Some of you may have noticed that yet another of our past tips won in its next race yesterday. We told you that Lesson In Humility was extremely unlucky last time out and yesterday the horse won at 12/1. We hope you followed our advice to back it next time and got on! If our tips don't win then we are normally proved right as they win next time out. Nobody likes to hear excuses, but we provide the best tipping service you will get anywhere and the results are there for all to see. We will always give you the reasons for a horse being beaten. Sometimes we can't explain it and sometimes there will be legitimate reasons for a defeat. If we know the reasons then we will share them with you. Remember we are punters too and hate losing, but know that our info is so good you will always make money following us.

Another Previous Tip Proves Us Right as Baharah Wins! - 25/07/2008

We gave you a tip at Royal Ascot and as usual we were right yet again. We told you that Baharah was a class act and after Eddie Ahern gave the horse a stinker of a ride, we warned you this was not the true form and it would win races. At Ascot today Baharah absolutely destroyed her opponents. So yet another of our tips proves that we have been unlucky. If our tips don't win, they usually come and win next time out. Our information is top notch. We hope that you have all paid for tomorrows tip. The odds are still mouth watering about this top class race horse.

Our Free Tip Absolutely Romps Home! - 19/07/2008

What a great days betting today. Our FREE banker bet HUNTING COUNTRY absolutely destroyed his opponents today, winning like an odds on shot at an SP of 9/2. Odds as high as 7/1 were available on Betfair today. As far as horseracing tips go, this was spot on. Unfortunately our bonus each way tip (Moyenne Corniche)was not as successful, but this is a horse that should be watched when Geoff Wraggs horses begin to show some form. Also a few weeks ago we advised two bets on the same day, Swingkeel and Sohraab. After they were beaten we advised that you back both these horses next time out. Following Swingkeels win during the week, Sohraab won today at 11/2. Our tips are very rarely wrong. If you follow these horses you will more often than not find that they are decent horses that will win next time out.

No Excuses For One Paced Linby - 18/07/2008

Todays tip was disappointing. Linby was available at 13/2 with some bookies in the morning and was available at 15/2 on Betfair. It was backed heavily all day and finished at 7/2. Yet again our info was spot on with regards to a fancied horse. However, we are in the business of providing winners, and beating the bookies is only worthwhile when the horse wins! Linby probably ran his best race to date, but was one paced so could need a little further and Nigel Tinkler will find it tough to find a race for this one to win but may up him in distance.

One Race Too Many For Old One Nation - 14/07/2008

Sad news today as David Pipes 13 year old One Nation had to be put down after the 3.50 at Newton Abbot. We tipped him on the first run for David and he failed to win but we told you to follow the horse and he won at 12/1 next time out. He was done no favours by the handicapper at the ripe old age of 13 and todays race seems to have been just one too many. We didn't tip him today but its a sad day for the David Pipe stable.

La Vecchia Scuola So Unlucky - 12/07/2008

Well it was another 2nd for the month of July and I suppose we should be happy with the place at odds of 12/1, but when you feel the horse deserved to win it is frustrating. She encountered traffic problems on 3 or 4 occasions which must have cost her at least 2 lengths and she was eating into the leader all the time in the final furlong to be beaten about a length. A great run from this really tough filly and yet another fantastic tip from Turf Talk.

Two Past Tips Run Today! - 11/07/2008

There are two Mark Johnston horses running today that we have tipped in the past. STEP THIS WAY (16:30 York) and WILLIAM BLAKE (15:00 Ascot). It will be interesting to see how they run. We know that if they are to run up to the true form then they would run very close. William Blake probably the most interesting at odds of about 12/1. It is frustrating and we will miss winners, but until the stable get some consistency they must just be watched. Our previous tips on these two horses will be shown to be justified in the end, as we are led to believe that they have both had the virus and when they are back right they will win.

Will Infallible ever get the going she deserves? - 09/07/2008

Well at Royal Ascot the ground was much too fast for Infallible and we thought the going was going to be spot on for her today. But the rain just wouldn't stop and when the going changed dramatically from Good Ground to Soft Ground, we knew that it could be the difference for her again. Cruising a furlong from home it looked as though we were back on a winner, when Frankie Detorri came and took it up on the Mark Johnston trained Nahoodh. Don't be fooled into thinking the Johnston horses are back, as if you study these things as much as we do, you will know there are clearly still problems there. Out of his last 30 runners he has had 5 winners, but there have been several finished tailed off and some short priced favourites beaten out of sight.

Earlier in the day today our tip Cape Vale was backed from 16/1 in places down to 10/1 and was probably beaten by the draw on the going. Drawn on the rail, he had the worst of the ground and probably ran a decent race in the end. Certainly one to keep an eye on in the near future!

Ladbrokes - The King of Conmen! - 07/07/2008

We wanted to share a story with you today which is typical of one of the so called biggest bookmakers in the world! One of our colleagues had a £100 bet on Choisette at Beverley on Friday night. The odds were 33/1 and the horse won. There was a rule 4 so he was due a return of £2,900. Very nice you may say to yourself! Ladbrokes accepted the bet and it went through the system no problem at all. Obviously Ladbrokes claimed they didn't have sufficient funds to pay him that night, so he phoned the next morning to check that he could come and collect. He was told that would be fine. However when handing over the slip the cashier told him it was a losing bet. Obviously there was some commotion and it transpired that he had placed the bet a massive 2 seconds after the off! Ladbrokes are still refusing to pay and will find themselves on the wrong end of a court case. I wonder if they would have refunded his £100 had he claimed that he placed the bet late and so was entitled to his money back. We find it amazing that an organisation the size of Ladbrokes are still trying to duck out of paying winning bets. Why are punters still sticking with these "bottling bookies" when there are such fantastic bookmakers such as Paddy Power, who are probably the most honourable bookmaker around. Ladbrokes have been doing it for years and are still getting away with it...until now!

Dubai Not Dynamic at Sandown!! - 05/07/2008

A disastrous run from Paul Coles Dubai Dynamo let us down badly today. The horses tongue was out for the majority of the race, and we appear to have been on a dog of a horse that was not interested today. The Royal Ascot form was not repeated and no doubt this one will come out and win, but its a horse we will be avoiding as it is not a genuine animal. We are still treating Mark Johnstons horses with caution, even though Lovelace with Jimmy Fortune riding won at 18/1 with the other stable runner in 4th. He had a few winners today, but also had some horses run absolute stinkers, and with the inconsistency of the stable, we have to be careful. We will have a quiet week this week and hope to bounce back next weekend where we have some advance info. The losers are always disappointing, but as you know, we always come up trumps with winners in the end, so stick with it and no doubt we will have yet another profitable month of horse racing tips!

The Perils of Gambling witnessed! - 04/07/2008

We witnessed how being on the best horse doesn't always mean you are on a winner. The key to a 5 furlong sprint is flying out of the stalls, and as we stared at stall 9 waiting for Sohraab to burst out, he just flopped out flat footed. Then Jimmy Quinn decided to wait patiently and even though already beaten, lost all chance when he couldn't get a run. In 5 furlong sprints you need to have so many things go your way, as well as being on the best horse. Sohraab is definitely one to keep an eye on as he hardly had a race and will be as good as fresh next time out. Then with our second tip advised at 14/1 we witnessed the importance of having a top jockey on board. Swingkeel ran a blinder of a race and had Jimmy Fortune or Frankie Detorri been on board we would have been on yet another big priced winner. David Kinsella just couldn't compete with the brilliance of these two in the finish and we yet again provided you with top class information. Lets hope next time we are on a winner. Sohraab and Swingkeel must be backed next time!

Maybe We Need to Avoid Mark Johnston horses for now! - 03/07/2008

We knew that the run from Step This Way was not true form and we have made a decision to avoid Mark Johnstons horses until he get s a consistent run of winners or places. There have been too many of his runners that have finished the same as Step This Way and we fear that the stable may have a virus. We were keen to tip Drill Sergeant tomorrow at Sandown but wanted to keep an eye on his runners. Although sending out a winner recently the horses are generally running badly. We were interested in a runner of his today and although a big price, we were expecting to see it run a decent race but was beaten a distance and was 9 lengths behind the second last horse! Although he had a 20/1 shot come third at Yarmouth the horses just do not seem right. We are also going to take a look at Jadaara at Warwick this evening, which would usually catch the eye. With the stable in form we would be looking to tip Drill Sergeant tomorrow, but we just can't take the risk!

Emperors Well Wins and we advised you to take the 20/1!!!! - 02/07/2008

After disappointment in the afternoon, we certainly made up for it with tonights tip. Emperors Well lead from the outset and was never passed to win fairly easily in the end. As you will know this was not a free bonus, this was a confident tip. Emperors Well won two races in 10 days last July off marks of 51 and 57. So todays mark of 53 was extremely interesting in his favourite month!! The 20/1 was far too big and by the amount of emails we have recieved lots of you managed to get on early! Well done and what a great start to July.. Lets hope we keep them coming!

Fujin Dancer Unlucky - 01/07/2008

Well a frustrating first tip for July. Fujin Dancer just needed the breaks and they came too late. Always travelling well, we just had to pray for the break. The winner got first run on him and by the time Paul Hanagan was in the clear it was too late. Always eating in to the winners lead, he just couldn't get there in time. The stable money was down as Fujin Dancer was backed heavily from 7/2 down to 2/1, eventually ending up 9/4. Disappointing, but most definitely unlucky!
